Ten years after its inception, Automobili Lamborghini celebrates the anniversary of the DESI – Dual Education System Italy project, a well-established initiative that underscores the company's commitment to technical education and the development of skills among new generations. The event took place at the Sant’Agata Bolognese headquarters, attended by the President of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Michele de Pascale.
The DESI project is part of a broader strategy through which the Sant’Agata Bolognese-based company has been investing for years in nurturing talent, promoting technical culture, and strengthening the bond between industry and the local community.
Launched in September 2014 through a collaboration between the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Regional School Office, Automobili Lamborghini, and Ducati Motor Holding, in synergy with Bologna's technical institutes Aldini Valeriani and Fioravanti Belluzzi, the DESI project stands as a model of excellence in Italy's dual education landscape. Over its first ten years, the DESI programme at Lamborghini has involved 210 students, 42 of whom are currently in training, through a curriculum that integrates theory and practice, amounting to over 9,000 hours delivered directly within the company at the dedicated technical centre located at the Sant’Agata Bolognese plant.
Through the DESI project, students can obtain a five-year diploma enriched with specialised certifications, including those for handling high-voltage vehicles (PES-PAV) and advanced skills such as 3D printing.
