A new conference concept, new "Process Live" areas, an extended Lightweight Technologies Forum and a parallel event with Foam Expo Europe: COMPOSITES EUROPE 2019 will take place in Stuttgart from 10 to 12 September with comprehensive innovations.
Visitors meet more than 300 exhibitors from 30 countries in Stuttgart, who’ll put on display state-of-the-art technology and the potential of composites in the exhibition space as well as in the numerous event areas, conference programme, themed guided tours and workshops.
Trade fair and International Composites Conference (ICC) to move closer in 2019
From 2019, the International Composites Conference (ICC) and COMPOSITES EUROPE will take place simultaneously. The topics of the conference will be reflected more strongly within the trade fair, among other things through theme islands, coordinated guided tours and practical demonstrations in the exhibition halls.
The conference programme will centre on the focal themes Smart Composites (Bio-Composites and Processing Technologies), Applications (Thermoplastics, Thermosets), Markets (New Mobility, Building & Construction), Future Challenges (Regulations and New Applications) and Composites Science (R+D Updates, Young Innovators Solutions). Kicking off the conference programme will be an Open Session featuring market reports, keynote speeches on market outlooks and trends – free for all visitors.
"Process Live": New special areas
The premiere of the "Process live" format last year was a great success. In 2019, the format will be further expanded and further special areas will be added. Mechanical and plant engineering companies will get together in group exhibits to showcase their technologies in live interactions – thus enabling visitors to experience sub-processes presented in a larger context. Four "Process live" areas are currently planned, designed by exhibitors Gunnar, Hacotech, Trans-Textil and Rebstock. The focus will be on cutting and vacuum infusion processes.
Lightweight Technologies Forum: Platform for multi-material lightweight construction
Besides the optimisation of the process chain, industry research today is focused on the use of GFRP and CFRP in multi-material systems. The Lightweight Technologies Forum makes it clear how lightweight material systems go beyond individual material groups. In the independent forum with a separate exhibition area, speakers and exhibitors will present material know-how and products for the automotive, transport, aviation and construction sectors.
COMPOSITES EUROPE and Foam Expo Europe to be held in parallel
In the automotive, aviation and construction sectors, they have long been a strong pair - foams and composites. In September, they will also meet at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre: For the first time, Foam Expo - Europe's largest trade fair for the entire supply chain of technical foam production - will flank COMPOSITES EUROPE. Foam Expo Europe is focused on bringing together the entire foam manufacturing supply chain and will provide a market place for engineers and purchasing decision makers to source and discover the most cost effective and innovative materials for foam applications in automotive, aerospace, construction, medical, packaging and sports & leisure applications.
