The inaugural Composites in Sport was a great success with fantastic feedback from delegates, exhibitors and speakers. The 2018 edition (3rd - 4th Oct 2018 Loughborough University, UK) looks set to grow and will expand the programme over 2 days, spotlighting the current and future use of composite materials in sport.
Sporting success is often the result of marginal advantages, whether that is in terms of the individual competitor, their training regime, or the equipment they employ. In pursuit of these marginal advantages, composites are now the material of choice for many sporting goods where their benefits in terms of high stiffness, low weight, protection and customisation are enjoyed by elite athletes and enthusiastic amateurs alike.
Composites in Sport will explore new composite material developments in sports-related applications including equipment, safety wear, apparel, prosthetics and infrastructure. It is aimed at material developers/suppliers, manufacturers, researchers, regulatory bodies and athletes of all abilities.
