Multi-material systems and hybrid components are setting the trends in lightweight construction right now. And from 19 to 21 September, Composites Europe - the European Trade Fair and Forum for Composites, Technology and Applications, will take place in Stuttgart from 19 to 21 September 2017 - in Stuttgart will show how this is benefiting composites. Some 400 exhibitors will put on display the potential of fibre-reinforced composites in the automotive engineering, aerospace, boatbuilding, wind energy and construction sectors. The focus of the trade fair, numerous event areas, presentation forums and workshops will be on lightweight construction, multi-material design and resource efficiency.
Featuring new special areas, forums and theme days, Composites Europe will be aimed even more strongly at user industries this year. Besides automotive engineering, the emphasis will be on the building and construction trade and on wind energy. Each of those three topics will be reflected with its own “Focus Day” and a dedicated “Innovation Area”.
Lightweight Technologies Forum
The Lightweight Technologies Forum, which made its successful debut last year, will be all about multi-material lightweight construction. Combining an exhibition and a presentation forum, the event will serve as the cross-material interface between metal and fibre-reinforced composite technologies in structural components. In several application-focussed modules, experts will present their real-world experiences with issues revolving around material composites in the automotive, aerospace and architecture segments. Also on the agenda will be cross-industry thematic blocks emphasising manufacturing and production technologies such as the joining and combining of different materials. Admission to the forum is included in the price of trade fair visitor tickets.
Trade fair opening event: 3rd International Composites Congress (ICC)
Kicking off COMPOSITES EUROPE 2017 on 18 and 19 September 2017 will be the “3rd International Composites Congress (ICC)” hosted by the trade association Composites Germany in Stuttgart. Current trends, new applications and technologies, and a comprehensive overview of market developments in Europe and worldwide will be the centre of attention at the 3rd ICC. This year’s partner country, South Korea, will be represented with several exclusive speakers.
COMPOSITES EUROPE will showcase the full range of fibre-reinforced plastics, from raw materials to processing methods to lightweight construction innovations in automotive engineering, aerospace, boatbuilding, wind energy and construction. Composites Europe is organised by trade fair organiser Reed Exhibitions in cooperation with the European industry association EuCIA and the trade association Composites Germany, a coalition whose members include the industry associations and clusters AVK, CCeV, CFK-Valley Stade and the VDMA Working Group Hybrid Lightweight Technologies.
