Much of the research effort in composites in recent years has focused on their manufacture, for example, to automate their lay up and speed up their cure, and much progress has been made.
However, when it comes to the assembly and joining of composites to other components of similar or dissimilar materials, industry is still facing many challenges.
The Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN), in partnership with the Irish Composites Centre (IComp), organised an event in 2017 to address some of these challenges.
In order to build on this success and maintain the momentum created, a follow-up event will be held on the 21st March 2019 in Belfast, UK.
