McLaren Automotive will celebrate three years of success in China at Auto Shanghai 2017 (19 – 28 April), with the national debut of the new McLaren 720S supercar and the unveiling of a 570GT Commemorative Edition, of which just three examples will be produced.
The two cars will line up as part of the McLaren showcase at the biennial Chinese motor show, which positions itself as the world’s largest automobile trade fair.
“McLaren has enjoyed three years of success in China and we are delighted to be premiering the new 720S at Auto Shanghai 2017 as we look forward to further growth in this market,” commented Mike Flewitt, CEO of McLaren Automotive, “customer interest in McLaren cars continues to increase rapidly and we are pleased to recognise this not only by introducing the second generation of McLaren’s Super Series product family, but also a 570GT Commemorative Edition for China.”
The new McLaren 720S makes it first appearance in China in Performance specification, finished for the first time in a striking combination of Saros exterior paint colour and Jet Black/Xenon Yellow leather interior with visible carbon fibre Monocage II structure. A carbon fibre roof panel, rear bumper and door sills further enhance the extreme sporting intent of McLaren’s second-generation Super Series, with bonnet inlets, mirror casings, rear fender air intakes and front splitter in the same material.
McLaren China will begin taking orders for the new McLaren 720S as Auto Shanghai commences, with the first customer cars arriving in July.
The 570GT Commemorative Edition has been created to mark three years of McLaren sales success in China. Luxurious and refined, with a side-opening rear glass hatch offering an additional 220 litres of storage on the leather-lined Touring Deck, the 570GT is the ideal starting point for a special celebration mode.
