Titanium fastening, Specialinsert leads sustainable innovation

This metal offers indeed numerous advantages, including low density, resulting in superior lightness, corrosion resistance and thermal inertia

Specialinsert – leading industrial organization specialized in the development, production and sales of fastening systems – has always focused on the study of innovative materials, with the aim of designing and providing the market with increasingly eco-friendly fastening solutions that contribute to minimizing the environmental impact of the entire fastener sector.

Over the past six years, the company’s Research & Development initiatives have been dedicated to the experimental application of titanium, harnessing its properties to create groundbreaking solutions. This metal offers indeed numerous advantages, including low density, resulting in superior lightness, corrosion resistance and thermal inertia. These features make it ideal for sectors where weight reduction, durability and corrosion protection are essential. Moreover, in line with Specialinsert's forward-thinking approach to anticipating the latest market trends, titanium is biocompatible, non-toxic, fully recyclable and perfectly aligned with the ESG and sustainability principles adopted by the company.

In this context, Specialinsert is pursuing two complementary lines of development: on one hand, the company is revisiting its extensive range of patented fasteners already available in its product portfolio, with the goal of producing the same series in titanium, processed in different grades of purity. This results in significant weight savings, averaging 40-50% compared to stainless steel fasteners, while maintaining high performance levels. On the other hand, Specialinsert offers custom solutions, leveraging the qualified consultancy and co-engineering activities of its technical team, at the core of the design and industrialization of tailor-made products. This process, supported by a detailed quality control protocol, includes a series of internal tests and comparisons to ensure that every solution meets the Specialinsert’s high standards.
