JEC CONNECT

The new machine concept for the large-scale pressure vessel

On the occasion of the JEC Composites Connect, Roth Composite Machinery presents its engineering expertise

On the occasion of the JEC Composites Connect, Roth Composite Machinery presents its engineering expertise as regards filament winding processes and the machinery to manufacture prepregs as well as thermoplastic prepregs. The trade fair takes place virtually from June 1st to 2nd, 2021. On the digital platform, Roth Composite Machinery presents furthermore an innovative machine concept for the large-scale pressure vessel production by using the filament winding process.

“By the development of the Rothawin technology, we have successfully introduced into the market a technology speeding up filament winding processes by a multiple. Now we are presenting a further innovation on the occasion of the JEC Composites Connect. Our new machine concept for the large-scale production of pressure vessels, particularly for the automotive industry, achieves double productivity compared with our current world-leading standard“, states Dr. Andreas Reimann, General Manager of Roth Composite Machinery. “While the production lines based on the Rothawin technology aim at the manufacture of small compact vessels primarily used for cars, the new gantry machine generation is addressed to the highly productive manufacture of vessels for commercial vehicles and trucks“, Dr. Andreas Reimann further explains.

A particularly strong frame construction keeps the dynamic of the accelerated production process with an increased quantity of laid fibres under control with ease. The new Filament Winding Plant of Roth Composite Machinery is available with three, four or five spindles. It is suitable for production processes for wet, dry or Towpreg winding procedures by using all common types of fibres, especially carbon and glass fibres. During the presentation of the innovative machine concept at the JEC Composites Connect, the company will introduce the performance potential of Roth’s Filament Winding production line.
